Evans Lake Multipurpose Hall
Evans Lake Forest Education Society has very much enjoyed our experience working with studioHuB on our plans to develop a new multi-purpose lodge for our camp. They have done an excellent job guiding a large and diverse group of stakeholders through the process of defining our facility program, developing design options, and asking very thoughtful questions to aid the design process. The staff team are very attentive, excellent listeners, and have showed us over and over that they truly and deeply care about us and our project. The team at studioHuB have worked tirelessly to supply us with the best possible project, that is a unique solution to our needs, and the camp community. We highly recommend the studioHuB team.”
- Chris Siddaway, Board Secretary, Evans Lake Forest Education Society
studioHuB architects are engaged by Evans Lake Forest Education Society to design a new 5,000 SF Multipurpose Hall to replace the existing dining hall in Paradise Valley, which will be renovated into a large meeting space. The new building will increase capacity and flexibility to accommodate a diversity of program needs, enhance the camp experience and provide a much needed weather-protected space for learning.
As one of the oldest buildings at Evans Lake, the design responds to what has been historically the heart of the camp. The new multipurpose hall will incorporate several of the traditions from the original dining hall such as family style, intimate table dinners, large open concept with excellent sight lines and direct access to the kitchen.
Some of the features the new building will be:
A universally accessible building
Gender neutral washroom facilities
Stronger indoor/outdoor connection
Opportunities for outdoor barbecues and dining
Large outdoor hand washing area
CLT and exposed wood elements
