StudioHuB Architects is currently working on the design of a 52 unit affordable housing project with BC Housing in Chilliwack. This 5 story building will house second stage and long term housing for women and women with children who are fleeing domestically unsafe environments. Extensive planning and coordination has taken place with BC Housing, the city of Chilliwack, and key stakeholders to produce a building that reflects the cultural and ecological values of the neighbourhood and the residents to be. A development permit has been issued with unanimous support from the city, and StudioHub is working towards submitting a Building Permit at this point in time. 

This team is pursuing Core certification with the Living Building Challenge, and is the only Canadian project in the 2023-2026 cohort. Using this environmental lens, the team has designed a building that incorporates elements of biophilia, sustainable building practices, healthy wellbeing, and indigenous principals to create a home that fosters healing and safety.
