“Working with Annerieke and her studioHuB team has been a great experience. I have been impressed throughout the entire project with Annerike’s ability to visualize and map out the process, develop, and lead meaningful workshops for stakeholder engagement, and work with our board to ensure everyone’s voice is valued and heard. The appropriate time was taken right from the begnning to make sure our library’s values and objectives were clearly understood. I would have no hesitation in recommending and engaging with studioHuB again in the future.”

District of Squamish Public Library
Libraries are vital and enduring spaces within communities and continue to be places of learning and connection. studioHuB architects was engaged by the Squamish Public Library to explore the future needs of the library in anticipation of the current and future population increase in Squamish and the surrounding areas, as well as the changing and evolving needs of the community.
The primary goal of the Squamish Public Library first and foremost is to serve the community. In an effort to best understand the current and future needs of the Library, a community and patron-focused approach was taken. In addition to creating a survey that was completed by 345 people, studioHuB architects examined current literature on libraries, facilitated workshops with library staff and board members, engaged with other libraries throughout the province, participated in public engagement and outreach at community events and markets, and held two focus group interviews with the public and stakeholders.
The feasibility study focused on four key themes: Partnerships and Collaboration, Technology, Space, and Programming. Through extensive community and stakeholder engagement, recommendations for themes and initiatives were distilled down to short-term and long-term library planning and development. Completed 2019.
