studioHuB architects is currently designing an outdoor pedestrian stair and ramp at BCIT Burnaby, acting as an eye-catching landmark for the campus. The project aligns with BCIT’s recent Campus Plan, with goals to create a more vibrant campus, demonstrate sustainability, and plan for facility needs for the next 50 years.

The stair and ramp are to create a strong visual presence at the end of the Campus Walk, contrasting the existing buildings at BCIT. It will create fluidity throughout the site, connecting the Campus Walk with the existing upper and lower plaza while maintaining vehicle access to the underside of the plaza. The project encourages accessibility to all areas of the site from the Campus Walk level.

The project is in the preliminary design stages, where form, colour, and material options are currently being explored.
